The company said the move was designed to improve operational efficiency and strengthen last-mile delivery services. The company is also appointing deputy station managers to oversee couriers, though order assignment processes remain unchanged. A person familiar with the matter said the hiring push likely stems from limited HR capacity amid soaring demand. JD.com’s food delivery now fulfils more than 25 million daily orders after just over four months of service, with over 1.2 million restaurants onboard and more than 120,000 full-time couriers.
