It was first launched in 2020 and has been adopted by BYD vehicles and supplied to a select group of other automakers such as state-owned FAW Group and Changan. The Chinese EV giant had also planned to supply batteries to Tesla, executive vice president Lian Yubo told CGTN in June, 2022, although no details of any deal have been made public by the two companies since then.
